Alli the first diet pill available without prescription that claims "safe weight loss of 3lb a week".

The £1 a day pill promises to cut the weight of women (and men) by between 5 and 10% within 4 months. Which is roughly 1 stone for an 11 stone woman! You simply eat an Alli tablet with each meal.

Oxford Fashion Week opens with a huge party at Oxford's premier club on the 3rd of May, featuring a runway show of the latest in vintage, casual, and classic high-street fashion.

Inspired by styles from the 20th century, the catwalk reflects the fashion influences of the 1920s, 1940s, 1960s and 1970s in today's collections. Decorated by mannequins displaying the themes highlighted during the show, with a deconstructed runway outlined by low level professional lighting. This season brings together a clean, pared down collection with a focus on fit and quality, cleanness of line and purity of form. Graphic prints punctuate this modern collection adding a painterly quality applied through brush strokes and sketchy lines. Embellishment is kept to a minimum but adds maximum impact to a simple silhouette, enveloping shrunken waistcoats or scattered on vests.

Accessories are kept to a minimum with statement pieces created for the perfect finishing touch. Big is better, taken through to over sized pendants and cuffs. Footwear is ankle high, strapped and wrapped.

Retail therapy (a traditional female method of copying with bad news and being down) is increased in the days leading up to your period.

Research by Karen Pine, a professor at Hertfordshire university interviewed 443 women in the 18 to 50 age range and found that two thirds who were in the last 10 days of their cycle had brought something on impulse. With over half having over spent by more than £25 and some by over £250!
