It's the fashion packs favourite item for SS09, so if you haven't braved the playsuit yet now is the time.

Think summer top and summer shorts combined; the playsuit is perfect for wearing over your bikini on the way to the beach or choose a slinky little black number for a hot club night out.

Prints are big this summer so choose a detailed small print (and just hope you don't need the toilet too often!). For the evenings you can't beat a sexy black tie-up playsuit for making a statement in your favourite nightspot.

Brastop.com are searching for DD+, naturally curvy girls to model their Autumn/Winter collection. With a years’ supply of lingerie and a modelling contract up for grabs, Brastop want their customers to flaunt their best assets.

Following the success of the Star in a Bra 2008 competition Brastop.com will be beginning their search in May 2009. The competition will run online with the public voting on their favourites. Each applicant will need to send 5 gorgeous lingerie or swimwear shots by 23 May to compete for the chance of becoming the bust of Brastop. The Brastop judges will shortlist their favourite 30 girls for a public vote, and the top 10 will get a professional makeover and photoshoot for the final public vote in July.

Customer Service Manager, Monika Paszek explained why this competition is so important: “Brastop specialise in plus size bras and the average Brastop customer is a size 12/14 with a 34G bust. This customer cannot relate to the models used by most lingerie brands, which tend to be either stick thin, too glamorous and often digitally enhanced. The Star in a Bra competition is a great opportunity for us to find naturally curvy models and for our customers to step into the spotlight and show how gorgeous a fuller figure can look. It could even kick-start a whole new modelling career!

“The response from last year’s competition was overwhelming. Not only from the amazing number of entries we had, but also from our customers who are delighted to see models they can relate to. We can show how a bra will look on a real curvy figure and customers understand which styles will suit their shape. We want to make the lingerie buying experience an enjoyable one. All women should feel happy with the package they have been given.”

Before you write off the bodycon trend as the exclusive domain of Girls Aloud, let us whisper these words Spanx body shappers. They are not exactly the last word in sexy, but they are scarily efficient at giving you a wow shape.

Body con dreses are back for spring 2009. These figure hugging dresses are a must for this seasons 80's inspired galmour look. Wear now with leggings or tights and your favourite sky scraper heels.

Queen of the bodycon dress, Kylie recently stepped out to The Ivy in a showstopping Emmanuel Ungaro mini and Lilo and Mrs Beckham have both been snapped in Herve Leger's bandage dress. Not that you need to blow £1k to get the look, as these fine high street examples show only too well.

In the future, dieting might become a thing of the past. Ever wondered why animals don't get fat? Ok so your overly pampered dog or cat can but generally there is no such thing as a fat wild animal.

Why is this? Well apparently there is a 'fat controller' in your digestive system that could hold the key to staying slim. Not only that (as if that's not enough I hear you cry) but it can also help with diabetes and heart disease too.

There is an enzyme (read what an enzyme is here) that is responsible for deciding whether to burn off the fat we eat or to store it - usually on our hips and bums!

This discovery raises possibilities that in the future diet pills could be developed that target this enzyme and allowing you to (almost) eat what you want without putting on the pounds.

Research in America has focused on a gene found in both mice and humans called MGAT2. Mice that didn't have this were able to eat a high-fat diet whilst remaining healthy and slim as the fat they ate was immediately burned off as energy - weighing an incredible 60% less then normal mice. These mice also processed sugars better (reducing diabetes risks) and had lower "bad" colesterol.

But as these "miracle pills" are many years away, I'm afraid it is salads and the gym for now, sorry.

Play with spring's new palette of champagne, buff and blush tones. Nude has long been a fashion favourite and now with a vast range of shades to choose from, there is something to suit everyone. Soft and feminine, it's not surprising that subtle nudes are such a key look for SS 09

Block colours are influencing our wardrobes from top to toe this season. It is a great way to inject some colour into your look, whilst keeping the overall effect fresh and simple. Whether you pick matching neutrals or clashing brights the combination will add an element of fun to any outfit - but remember when it comes to accessorising this look, less is more!

OR

Step onboard with this season's favourite trend, with some nautical stripes in navy and white - or if you prefer some colourful candy stripes - and put a little fun back in fashion.

Even better, the stripe is always in season so you'll be making a long-term investment. The secret to getting the stripe right, is to keep this trend subtle. Pair with flats and you'll be stylish for summer.

The big names in fashion have just finished their catwalk shows. With Chanel, Valentino and Alexander McQueen all showing their autumn/winter 09 collections.

Chanel seemed to draw the most attention but then again that was probably due to the appearance of Kate Moss. With photographers almost climbing over each other to get the perfect shot. Milla Jovovich, Claudia Schiffer, Lily Allen and Beth Ditto all were left wondering what they'd done wrong.

Kate, dresses in a bootleg trousers and a smart black tux jacket, looked fabulous and was kept safe by Chanel's security team who had to repair the catwalk (damaged by over eager photographers!).

Chanel produced a stunning set of black and white outfits with regency peroid detailing - think ruffles! Watch the show here.

Karl Lagerfield mixed things up with pink and pistachio knitted jumper dresses and lots of satin.

A few hours later Valentino featured towering platform spike-heeled sandals, dip-dyed gowns in hues of orange, red, jade and turquoise. Ignoring the credit-crunch there were crystals, satins and furs. Watch the show here.

Alexander McQueen had the crowd on its feet before his show had even finished. The runway was made from broken glass tiles which the models walked very carefully over. Definately a marmite show (you either loved it or hated it) but it got people talking. Watch the show here.

Following hot on the heels of London Fashion Week is Paris Fashion Week. Christophe Decarnin label Balmain is very cool right now and is the inspiration behind the current bleached denim look in the shops now.

For the few fans that made it into the show (the queues were long and most didn't) they were treated to a visual feast of "all things that sparkle are good"; with swarovski crystals and very short hemlines.

The asymmetric neckline featured strongly albeit toughened up with spike-heeled ankle boots.

Statement shoulders on signature jackets were back but with more spohistication that before. Watch the show here.

Viviene Westwood went one better than at London by strutting down the catwalk with Pamela Anderson (the face of her Gold label campaign) in a show that will not be forgotten quickly. Watch the show here.

John Galliano called upon the likes of Charlize Theron, Eva Green and Milla Jovovich to add some A-list glamour.

Its such a big start and the BIG names haven't had their shows yet. Chanel, YSL and Stella McCartney are all later this week.

"The 80's are back in town!" After dreary shades of winter, hot neon's have burst onto the catwalk for Spring/Summer. Whilst neon is a definite must-have this season, be careful not to overdose on fluros - instead use as a subtle pop of colour for best effect. No more hiding in the shadows - be brave and put yourself in the fashion spotlight!

Warm up this spring with softer shades of pastel. Some of the biggest names in fashion have been showing off their romantic side with sorbet shades of nude, lilac, peach, baby blue and candyfloss pink. With colours good enough to eat, this is one palette which is here to stay.

Whether you choose neon pinks or subtle pinks, where this bright trend this Spring/Summer and your sure to get noticed!

After a week of New York fashion that hardly saw any celebrities, Victoria Beckham's praised for her second fashion collection and Marc Jacobs showing to a much more select few than ever before, all eyes turned to London.

Highlights will included Sienna and sister Savannah Miller’s first LFW show for their collection Twenty8Twelve, the Christopher Kane after party, Estethica (the ethical fashion event), hot new label Kinder Aggugini, Vivienne Westwood, Red Label and Luella.

In its 25th year London fashion 'week' ended on Tuesday with menswear taking centre stage on Wednesday.

One-Shouldered Dresses, especially as worn by Kate Winslet (in slate gery that was designed by YSL with sheer panels and asymmetric embroidery).

Dark colours, especially black with minimal accessories. Bling is very much taking a back seat with the current credit-crunch.

Key trends to emerge (that will eventually filter down to the high street) are...

Mini dresses
Asymmetric dresses
Power dressing
Detailing
Zips (esp full length)
Kaleidoscopic and geometrics prints
Chunky chains and accessories
Skinny jeans
Boyfriend jackets
Cheeky school girl look
